This is a long post from Mozilla that probably won't get the attention it deserves outside of a niche, geeky audience. I'm very pleased that people are figuring out answers to these issues.

Let's start with the problem:

Yes, yes, and yes would be my answers to the 3-30-300 test. (I can't actually count the number of trees that I can see out of the windows of our house.) But then, we don't live in a city and my home county of Northumberland is blessed with trees and open spaces.

A follow-up to [this note] given Anthropic's recent announcement that they're going to require government-issued ID to use "certain features" of their models. They're using none other than Peter Thiel-backed Persona for this. Ugh.

Reading things that are relevant to the facts of your life is of limited value. The facts are, after all, only the facts, and the yearning passionate part of you will not be met there. That is why reading ourselves as a fiction as well as fact is so liberating. The wider we read the freer we become.

This is fun. I came across a Reddit thread in which someone described using PixelLab to create an RTS-style 'game' of activity being carried out by Claude Code / OpenCode / whatever. When you run multiple sub-agents, they all scurry off to the mines, library, market, forge, etc.

I had a terrible dream last night where I was supposed to board a plane. I can't remember exactly where to, but it definitely wasn't New Orleans which is the flight I ended up on.

At the last minute, I managed to get off the plane, and ended up back in an airport. However, I couldn't get out because I had someone else's passport - and I didn't have mine.

I've enabled comments here on Substrate. Given that I haven't told many people this space exists – and the dearth of comments I've received in the last decade – I'm not expecting much. But that's not to say I don't want and encourage them!

I've spoken to a couple of people within the last 24 hours that makes me think that apps in future will just build themselves. There will be universal approaches or 'skills' (e.g. task lists, timers) that it can just draw upon, but if you need anything unique the app will just ask you questions and you can refine it.

You have to be in the right frame of mind to watch an Adam Curtis documentary. It's an experience. He has a particular style where text is overlaid on archive footage, stills from which can be seen via the Adam Curtis bot on the Fediverse. I've included an example above.
