Urgency is a byproduct of capitalism
I'm not sure whether it's the old one gets, or just the older I personally get, but essentially nothing is urgent. As I'm fond of quoting the artist Finley Quaye as saying, "good things happen slowly, bad things happen fast."
Now, if I wanted to turn this note into an essay, I'd perhaps explore the way in which social media is a way to urgently remind one another that we exist. And then, for many people, AI is a way of generating content for that medium.
But I have things to do offline, including painting a radiator and trimming a hedge. So that will have to wait.
