I've decided to attend #SysPrac26 at the end of the month
I'm not sure how I've only just heard about it (perhaps because I forgot to renew my SCiO membership) but the SysPrac26 conference is the week after next. I've decided go, rearranging my existing commitments on Monday 21st and Tuesday 22nd September.
Given that I want to spend the second half of my career largely focused on systems thinking with practical impact, it seems the logical place to be. So that's now London next week, Cranfield the week after, and Toronto the week after that. It's been a while since I was travelling three weeks in a row!
Looking at the schedule, I'm particularly interested in attending the following on Day 1:
- Tony Korycki's De-Misting Critical Systems Heuristics (CSH)
- Benjamin Taylor's Making relational, place-based public services ordinary
- Anne Gambles' Seeing services as systems: what does it mean to design services
And then on Day 2:
- Patrick Hoverstadt's Viable System Model (VSM) - Balancing Complexity
- Benjamin Taylor's Systemic Consulting
- Simon Gough's Network Analysis and Boundary Critique (although this clashes with Systemic Consulting)
- Kim Warren's System Dynamics (SD)
I'm driving the ~4 hours each way to Cranfield from my home in Northumberland, so I think my brain will be full and I'll be quite tired on the way back!
