Censorship-resistant, untakedownable websites

Notes updated

I've always been interested in the idea of an 'untakedownable' blog. In 2017 I attempted to create one giving some of the reasons why in this post.

My old blog used to be available via Tor and this project, OnionPress, aims to take that a step further.

Turn your computer into a blog with its own permanent address. No hosting company. No monthly bill. No one can take it down but you.

Am I likely to use this for everyday blogging? Probably not. Do I ensure I have censorship-resistant things like this and Briar up my sleeve just in case? Absolutely.

Technically, you're running WordPress on localhost. You can also configure a Cloudflare proxy so that it's accessible on the open web.

Here's the link to the one I had a quick play with: http://op27zpx3xul54ulfqykgskizselkwuxq2irmkakhm6elscgdvox5y2yd.onion/substrate
