Displaying art based on the weather at your location

Ideas updated

Rothko image for Morpeth, England

I love the idea behind this website, which depending on the weather at your location, shows one of Mark Rothko's abstract expressionist paintings.

We've got a couple of Samsung 'The Frame' TVs which I love because they show art when they on standby. Not only that, but they adapt to the lighting conditions and have built in Apple Airplay.

They also recognise whether they've been mounted horizontally or vertically, so I could get a 32" one, and display an ever-changing display of Rothko's art.

The designer/developer also has other examples at their playground.

And then, if and when I get bored of that, I could display my side project Décadi which is:

A daily calendar displaying today's date in the French Republican Calendar, with a background image sourced from Wikimedia Commons for whatever plant, animal, mineral, or tool the day is named after.

More about that project here.
